In Esp\u00edrito Santo, more than 50% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) depends on mining, steel, pulp and paper, and oil and gas. In the short term, until 2040, oil will continue to play an important role in our economy. However, reserves tend to run out, as does its use as energy.<\/p>\n

We are the fifth largest gas producer in Brazil, we must expand our production and have new forms as well, such as biomethane. This is a great advantage.<\/p>\n

We are the largest exporter of granite in Brazil and a reference in the world and this must be improved.<\/p>\n

We have a huge reserve of rock salt, which needs more research and attracting investors to be explored. We have bauxite, which is used to produce aluminum, whose consumption is expected to grow significantly.<\/p>\n

In the short term, we are doing well. In the medium term, we need to attract new investments and new technologies. We are a state with a very small population, 2% of the Brazilian population. This is very little for consumption. We need to have knowledge and technology. The biggest investment that the state needs to make is in education, which is the basis of all this.<\/p>\n
